FleetCarma EVs have arrived in Madrid, after it was announced that Geotab made the move to acquire the company this week. In detail, its goal is to renovate the fleet and improve in terms of personalized service and technology.

FleetCarma offers telematics technology for hybrid and electric cars. Additionally, the company also provides help for utilities. In broad terms, its goal is to manage the impact that EV charging has on the electric grid.

The goal of expanding FleetCarma EVs

FleetCarma is based in Silicon Valley North (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada). The company did not reveal the price of this purchase; however, it assured it seeks to understand and manage the impact caused by charging electric vehicles. To this end, the company is ready to test this effect on the electric grid, as adequate EV management is essential for its operations.

This acquisition has turned FleetCarma into a global leader in EV fleet management. For his part, Geotab CEO Neil Cawse stated that one of the reasons behind this move is expanding the company’s presence in the electric vehicle space. Achieving this will facilitate covering the needs of its businesses and fleets. The company is mainly focused on the private sector.

Meanwhile, FleetCarma has indicated that this is a necessary development. CEO Matt Stevens stated that the deal was made on the basis of promoting the company. “The combination of the company’s telematics capacities with the Geotab open platform is exactly what customers want and what the industry needs.” The cars’ mobility will be appreciated over the coming months.

Some of the main buyers of FleetCarma EVs include Europe and United States.
